My Songs.
The third single track titled, “Better Than Me” is a song that predated its release in 2024 when it was written the early part of 2021. This song features piano, vibraphone, string quartet, back drop harmony vocals, and lead guitar driving the melody forward and supporting with its own musical dialogue the accompaniment that tunes in the listeners ear to the main vocals. At the core it is a song about humility, and what it means to step back and let God take the lead, acknowledging that a surrendered life to a higher power in all areas is far better than pride or anything else we could achieve in our own strength and will, and this song serves as the reminder back to the songwriter of this truth. Accompanying the lyrics is an uplifting melody of instrumentation that hopefully will serve to take the listener into that deeper place of introspection, with the intent of illuminating the dark areas of doubt into certainty, clarity, and ultimately, peace knowing that you don’t have to have it all figured out for things to work out as they should.
Her influences are many, but she dedicated her time with classical training on the piano which has cultivated and influenced the way she composed her original songs into the creations they are today. Her songs are a fusion between two sounds, classic love ballads and modern day pop. Bella G is an open book; she strives to write songs that people can relate to, to have that connection with human emotion that is otherwise never talked about in conversation. She puts it to song with a catchy and sometimes hauntingly beautiful melody that is sure to catch fire to both the young and old alike. Her recent release “Jump in the Water” is inspired by the Caribbean tropic sound consisting of tight rhythms, powerhouse vocals, and a catchy and uplifting melody that will serve to encourage, and soothe the listener as they take the journey through the song from uncertainty to the other side of whatever is next.
The most recently released track titled, “Remember” is a song that was born out of the 2020 pandemic after losing some close loved ones, and the overwhelming sense of hopelessness that prevaded many folks around the world during that painful season filled with isolation and fear. This power house ballad consist of strings, drums, and of course piano and vocals. Going back to her Christian faith, the lyrics
were inspired from the Bible the book of Psalms 121 where the main refrain, “remember where your help comes from” is the recurring statement made to serve as a reminder and comfort for not only herself, but hopefully will serve to be the same for someone else. The repeating of this statement within the refrain is a powerful one, in that in remembering our past and what we came from, we are reassured for the
present and future that we aren’t fighting our external or internal battles alone.
